Our pre-law group consists of of faculty, staff, and students from several programs including:
- Political Science
- History
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Management
- Career Services
- Criminal Justice
Our group's goal is to prepare students interested in going on to law school. We do this through one-on-one advising, relevant course enrollment and planning, preparation for the Law School Admissions Tests (LSATs), the law school application process, and the expectations of rigorous law school programs.
Political Science; History; Public Policy; Criminal Justice; Sociology. These are among the most common majors of students seeking entry to law school. But law schools also look for candidates with a diversity of academic experiences. Some supplementary fields include Philosophy, Biological Sciences, Management, English, Sciences, Humanities, and beyond. Our campus offers courses related to
- the American legal and judicial systems
- constitutional law
- business law
- civil liberties
- political process
- public policy
- accounting
- forensic and legal psychology
and other aspects of the field of law.
Pitt-Greensburg has had a strong success rate of placing students into law schools. We have placed students at the law schools of Duquesne University, the University of Pittsburgh, Wayne State University, Ohio Northern University, American University, and many others.
