Career Information

Pitt-Greensburg Career Services

Teaching is wonderful, but that’s not all you can do with your degree in Spanish! Pitt-Greensburg Spanish majors find employment in business, law, tourism, the health professions, education, and many other fields. Spanish language proficiency enhances job seekers’ qualifications for a variety of careers and disciplines.

Clubs/Honor Societies/Organizations

Spanish Club is a dynamic organization of students interested in Hispanic culture. You don’t need to speak Spanish to join, and activities are open to everyone! Meetings are every week, and we host events ranging from celebrations for Día de los Muertos to salsa dancing lessons. If you are interested in Spanish Club, please contact Professor Elizabeth Contreras.

Graduate Studies

Spanish majors may continue their language study through graduate programs in Hispanic Studies or Education. In addition, Spanish majors may apply their training in other graduate fields. To find out about your options for master's or doctoral programs, please contact Dr. Stacey Triplette.

Internship/Study Abroad

Many of our majors or minors spend a summer or a semester in Spanish-speaking countries. Recently, students have studied in Cuba, Argentina, Perú, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Spain, and Mexico. Faculty-organized trips are available to Cuba and Spain. Pitt Oakland offers a semester-long program in Cuba open to Pitt-Greensburg students. We can also help students find a variety of approved classes and internships abroad. If you are interested in internship and/or study abroad opportunities, please contact Professor Elizabeth Contreras.
