Frank Wilson, PhD, is a sociologist who has been teaching at Pitt-Greensburg since 1998, where he currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. From 2015-18 Dr. Wilson was the President of Pitt’s University Senate, the first and only to hold that position from a regional campus. His classes (currently Social Movements and Drugs & Society) support Criminal Justice and Public Policy majors, the Sociology minor, and satisfy the “Understanding Global Issues (SS3)” general education requirement. For many years Dr. Wilson was the Director of the Academic Village where he was a strong advocate for the development and expansion of interdisciplinary collaborative teaching. He was one of the founders of The Center For Applied Research (CFAR), and In 2020 helped create the first campus Honors Program, which has now lead to the expansion of the Frederick Honors College to Pitt-Greensburg.
