How to Apply

The FAFSA code for the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is 008815.

In order to be eligible for financial aid, a student must demonstrate financial need according to the following formula:

  Student Cost of Attendance (COA)
- Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
Financial Need

The COA is determined by the Greensburg Office of Financial Aid and includes tuition, fees, books and supplies, housing and meals, transportation, and personal expenses such as laundry and entertainment. The EFC is calculated according to a federal formula. The determination of your eligibility for financial aid is based on the FAFSA and general information provided by you such as your enrollment, housing status, and state residency. If any of these factors change, it could affect your financial aid by increasing, reducing, or canceling the amount. A review will take place at the time the Office of Financial Aid becomes aware of the change.

FAFSA School Code for The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg: 008815

Priority Deadline:
Freshmen — January 1
Returning Students/Transfer Students — March 15

*NOTE: Prior to filing online, filers should visit studentaid.gov for a Department of Education username and password. The student and his/her parent must each have a FSA ID. The username and password will serve as electronic signatures and allow the applicant to access and change the FAFSA information online. While filing online is the recommended method, students who do not wish to file electronically can access a paper FAFSA here

Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR)

After completing the FAFSA students will be emailed a Student Aid Report from the federal processor which summarizes their FAFSA information.

Correct any incomplete or inaccurate information on your SAR; instructions are provided. Both the student and parents must sign it (electronically or written) and return it to the federal processing center for further processing.

The SAR also gives the student the Data Release Number (DRN) and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Please note that the EFC is NOT the dollar amount the family will pay for the student's education, and it remains the same regardless of the cost of education.

The Verification Process

The federal government randomly selects FAFSA filers for an audit process called verification. When a FAFSA filer is selected, the student will receive a Missing Information Notification from Pitt-Greensburg. This letter will include steps for completing the verification process in the online portal, upg.studentforms.com.
