The University of Pittsburg at Greensburg will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, November 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Smith Hall Lounge (University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, 150 Finoli Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601).
Appointments may be scheduled online at redcrossblood.org (enter UPG in the search box) or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
New to the process is the American Red Cross’s RapidPass that allows donors to complete their pre-reading and donation questions online from the comfort and privacy of their own home or office, reducing the time needed at blood drives by as much as 15 minutes. Visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass to answer the questions and print your pass. Please note that RapidPass cannot be completed on the same day of the blood drive and cannot be completed using mobile devices. Donors must print their pass or email the PDF to themselves to show on their mobile device when they come to donate.
“Every donation of blood helps to save three lives,” said Pamela Reed, director of the Health Center at Pitt-Greensburg. “We are about to begin the holiday season, which is a time of year when need increases and donations tend to drop off. We invite members of the Westmoreland County community to participate in this blood drive.”
