Sharon Turchick, CPA, MBA teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Standard Costs, Budgets and Profit Planning, Accounting Information Systems and Financial Statement Analysis, Personal Financial Planning and supervises Senior Project for Accounting.
Prior to full time employment in the fall of 2011 at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Ms. Turchick taught on an adjunct basis at the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland and Point Park University while performing consulting work. Most of Ms. Turchick’s career was spent in industry as a Chief Financial Officer. She was also a Senior Auditor at Arthur Anderson & Company for several years. Ms. Turchick is an active CPA and a member of the PICPA, AICPA, and a registered key contact for the organizations who can be called upon to work with legislators as needed.
She continues to provide independent, practical consulting services for various industries on a limited basis, at times with current and former students, and has served on the Board of Directors of several local companies. She is actively involved in advising, student development and providing appropriate recommendations, resume reviews and networking opportunities with personal business contacts for student internship and employment opportunities. Ms. Turchick is also a member of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg’s CFAR (Center for Applied Research) team.
