Pitt-Greensburg plans Christmas Party for Jeannette Head Start

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will host a Christmas Party for approximately 40 children enrolled in the Jeannette Head Start program on Friday, December 9, at 11 a.m. in the Hempfield Room (Chambers Hall). In addition to participating in a holiday lunch, the children will also receive Christmas gifts from Santa Claus. This is the 14th year for the event, which is sponsored by the Pitt-Greensburg Residence Life Staff.

Members of the Pitt-Greensburg Community (faculty, staff, and students) are able to participate by “adopting” a child and purchasing a toy and clothing. The purchase is based on the child’s wish list, which is printed on a stocking and placed on a Christmas tree located near the Wagner Dining Hall.

Members of the Pitt-Greensburg Community who would like to participate are asked to select a stocking from the tree and write their name next to the child’s name on the Child Sponsor List located next to the tree. The list may also be found on-line at www.pitt.edu/~upglivin/gifts.pdf. Deadline for delivering unwrapped gifts to 213 Chambers Hall is 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 6. Additional information is available from Troy Ross at twr@pitt.edu
