More than 60 pieces to be displayed at the Art Show @ Pitt-Greensburg

Artwork photoAn Artists Reception for the Art Show @ Pitt-Greensburg will be held Sunday October 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Millstein Library. The event is open to the public and will showcase more than 60 pieces of artwork created by artists who include alumni, community members, and the campus community. Prizes, based on fan votes, will be awarded for first, second, and third places during the reception.

The exhibit, part of Blue & Gold Week: Homecoming 2017, opens Tuesday, October 10, to in Millstein Library and will run through October 21. The artwork is available for viewing during regular business hours at the library.

“The Art Show @ Pitt-Greensburg is intended to showcase the artistic talent of the campus community as well as the talent of those who live and work in southwestern Pennsylvania,” said Julia Sefcheck, Alumni Relationship officer and show organizer. “We have an amazing selection of artwork, some of which will be for sale by the artists. It’s exciting to see the great response we’ve had for our first show.”

This exhibit is supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency—as part of the Council’s Project Stream grant program, administrated locally by the Pennsylvania Rural Art Alliance. It is also funded, in part by UPMC Health Plan (Canvas Sponsor) and Express Mobile Diagnostics Services, LLC, (Collection Sponsor).
