January Residents of the Month

Pitt-Greensburg's Office of Residence Life has announced the January Residents of the Month.

The Community Assistants (CAs) from each residential area select the Residents of the Month. When selecting the Residents of the Month, CAs are asked to consider the department's three main learning goals: community, engagement, and respect.

The program showcases residents who have been a positive influence the community, have become engaged on campus, and show respect to their fellow residents and the residence halls. The CAs are asked to select residents that who demonstrated a commitment to these goals.

Congratulations to the January Residents of the Month:

Zhra Alizada – Athena House

Zhra is an active student leader in Athena House and in the campus community. In January, Zhra attended her CA’s programs and took a large role in leading the production of Athena’s mannequin challenge. Additionally, she is a peer leader and the treasurer of Resident Student Council

 

 

 

Chris Bickert – Westmoreland Hall

According to his CAs, Chris has been a very kind, generous, and inviting resident in the Westmo community. Chris has not only attended his CAs' programs but also has supported other groups/clubs on campus and has demonstrated a positive influence to his peers. The Westmo CAs enjoy Chris’s company during duty nights and respect his ability to engage with other residents in the building and create a strong community at Westmo.

Danica Eichelberger – College Hall

Danica was chosen as Resident of the Month because she is always participating in College Hall and campus events throughout the months. She has a friendly demeanor that really brightens College Hall. 

Matt Grayo – Robertshaw Hall

Matt is studying hard to improve his grades and still attends programs and helps plan things with SAB, DSC, and RSC to stay involved on campus.

Marissa Jones – Robertshaw Hall

Marissa is maintaining good grades and is always active and visible in the hall and around campus. She is friendly and helpful and sets a good example for her peers.

Natasha Kamtekar – Selene House

Natasha’s CA says that she has been very involved in Selene House recently. She continues to attend house programs, always offering to help set up and clean up. “She has been such a big help to me,” her CA said. She is always available and willing to help others.

Kevin Kara – Apollo House

Kevin’s CA describes him as “kind and compassionate towards other residents” in Apollo House. Kevin is always available and willing to lend a helping hand to other residents in the building. He is active in intramurals and is incredibly studious and goal-oriented. He regularly attends programs in his house, as well; even offering to help with setup and cleanup.

Nick Kuster – College Hall

Nick was chosen as Resident of the Month because he creates a friendly atmosphere in College Hall where he spends a good amount of time interacting with other residents. His friendliness and thoughtfulness towards others can be seen by his efforts to help other residents with homework. In addition to being a beneficial member of College Hall, he is involved with the Science Club.

 

Tyler Massar – University Court

Tyler is becoming a familiar face in the UC, as he has attended numerous CA programs and campus events during the month of January. He is active in Nerdfighters and will be attending the upcoming Habitat for Humanity spring break trip. He has also been discussing co-planning an upcoming program with his CA.

Kyler Merritts – University Court

Kyler has become more and more involved in the UC community. He regularly attends programs in the UC and is also involved on campus. He has registered to attend the Habitat for Humanity alternative spring break trip and is involved in Nerdfighters, too.

 

Jen Miller – Marshall House

Jen’s CA calls her a “nice, energetic, and helpful” resident. She is a scholar-athlete who is currently preparing for the softball season. She engages other residents in conversation often.

Allie Polash – Westmoreland Hall

Allie was selected by her staff because she has been involved on campus in SAB, Village Senate, OACS, and Accounting Club. Allie has engaged in the Westmo community and has been able to interact with other residents including bringing out her Wii during duty nights.  Her staff describes her as “approachable,” “kind,” and “helpful” and noted that she has been involved in the community by attending programs and interacting with her peers and CAs.

John Radford – Mead House

John is a “behind the scenes figure,” as described by his CA. He speaks often at the CAFT meetings in the Village and even led his own discussion in January. He performs in the Coffeehouse’s Open Mic Night and is a friendly face to many in Mead House. He often offers sparks of humor that are thought-provoking and refreshing.

Jenna Schultz – Franklin House

Jenna has been very kind to everyone and has tried to make Franklin a better place. In January, she attended house programs and continued to engage with others in a polite and respectful way. Her CA says that Jenna always offers to help clean up after programs and has been a great resident to have.
