The Full-Tuition Scholarship Competition 2026
Pitt-Greensburg will award up to 3 full-tuition scholarships to freshmen students beginning their education in Fall 2026. This award will only cover tuition of up to 18 credits per semester (in-state rate) for up to 4 years if the student meets renewal criteria of 3.5 GPA each academic year. This prestigious scholarship has a value of more than $54,000.
Criteria for Eligibility
Qualified students are invited to apply and participate in the competition. In order to be eligible, the student must meet the following criteria:
1. Admitted as a full-time freshman to Pitt-Greensburg.
2. Achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher (at the time of application).
3. Be in the top 10-20% of the graduating class, or 1st or 2nd decile (strongly recommended).
4. Curriculum will be evaluated for Honors, AP, or College in High School classes.
5. Any student entering the competition MUST be a United States citizen.
6. Exempt from this competition: Pre-Engineering students, Pre-Pharmacy students, and dependent students of the University of Pittsburgh.
Instructions for the Application
To apply for the Full-Tuition Scholarship, students are required to submit their application containing the following four documents via mail or hand-deliver them to the Admissions Office in Rossetti House:

- Academic Major
2. Essay Response
Please respond in 750 words, double-spaced to the following essay prompt. Your essay response will be read and scored by two professors of English.
Essay Prompt: Detail an experience you or someone else had with Artificial Intelligence during the course of your education and explain the morality, neutrality, or immorality of using AI in that situation and in educational processes in general. Also explain how those who are investing in you with this scholarship know that the essay you are writing in response to this prompt is by you and not by ChatGPT or other automatic text generators.
3. Resume
Please include a resume detailing any community involvement/extracurriculars that you would like the scholarship committee to know about.
4. Letters of Recommendation
Please include three letters of recommendation. Recommendations must come from adults who are not related to you and MUST address the questions listed below. Each letter of recommendation must be in a sealed envelope with a signature across the seal. All three references must provide the following in their letters of recommendation for you:
- Contact Information
- Full name
- Scholarship applicant name
- Relationship to applicant
- Title/Position
- Phone number
- Company/Affiliated Organization
- Mailing Address
- Is this an academic or personal recommendation?
- Reference Questions
- Letters of recommendation MUST address the following questions:
- Why do you feel the applicant is deserving of a Full-Tuition Scholarship at Pitt-Greensburg?
- How do you feel the applicant can contribute to the Pitt-Greensburg campus community?
- Letters of recommendation MUST address the following questions:
- If your letters of recommendation do not address the questions posed, you will be disqualified.

IMPORTANT: Applications must be received in the Admissions Office by 4:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026. Applications postmarked before January 30 but not received by 4:00 PM January 30 will be disqualified.
Finalists will be selected based on their application and essay and will be notified no later than Friday, February 13, 2026. If you are selected as a finalist, you will then be invited to participate in a Zoom interview the week of February 15, 2026.
Note: Full-tuition scholarship winners will forfeit the original merit scholarship offer made to them at the time of admission. Finalists who interview but are not selected to receive a full-tuition award may receive a small increase in their original scholarship offer.
