Into The Streets
More than 100 University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg students volunteered at 25 area non-profit agencies during the ninth annual “Into the Streets” program. The event, sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA) and Pitt-Greensburg’s Student Services Office, is designed to inspire and encourage students to participate in community service on a regular basis.
This year’s three-day event opened Tuesday, March 23, and ended Thursday, March 25. Among the organizations with which the 118 students volunteered were Keystone Park, Catholic Charities, Seton Hill Child Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Laurel Region, Tri-City Meals on Wheels, Greensburg YMCA, Briarcliff Pavilion, Wildlife Works, Inc., Delmont Public Library, Weatherwood Manor, Apple Hill Playhouse, and Clelian Heights School. “Into the Streets” is just one of the many community service activities in which Pitt-Greensburg students participate.
