Pitt Day in Harrisburg logoOn Tuesday, March 19, 2024, members of the Pitt community from across the Commonwealth will gather for the annual "Pitt Day in Harrisburg." This event has given members of the General Assembly an opportunity to talk with students, alumni, faculty, and staff about their work and to gain a first-hand perspective of the challenges and changes facing public higher education.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Transportation to and from Harrisburg, on a coach bus with FREE Wi-Fi and snacks
  • Complimentary Continental breakfast provided on the way out
  • Tour of the Capitol, and group photo
  • Meetings with local Westmoreland County Legislators
  • Lunch, provided by Pitt, at the Capitol
  • Cash Per Diem toward dinner at a rest area on the way back to campus, compliments of the Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association (PGAA)
  • Excused absence from class for students

We will depart campus at 8:00 a.m. and return by 7:30 p.m. All students who participate will receive an excused absence, from class, on the return bus trip home. However, prior arrangements should be made with professors regarding their absence. Students who attend are also eligible for Academic Village and GEM credit!
