Self Study to Middle States Commission on Higher Education

A Self-Study Submitted to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education January 2012

The University’s Self-Study, titled ‘Using a University-wide Culture of Assessment for Continuous Improvement,’ is now available to the Pitt community. As part of the framework for the higher education regular reaccreditation process, universities are asked to prepare a self-study document. For its 2012 Self Study, the University of Pittsburgh chose the selected topics model on the subject of assessment.

By directly addressing the standards of institutional assessment and the assessment of student learning, the University has taken the opportunity provided by the accreditation process to look in depth at a strategy to which it has been deeply committed for some time and to better understand how the assessment process is driving change and advancing the institution.
